Recipe of the Week: Brown Sugar-Cranberry Oat Muffins

Are you thinking about breakfast for the family this weekend? Maybe something a little different? Maybe something nice and simple? The mix of oats, brown sugar, butter, and tart cranberries in this recipe really spoke to me. And adding the crème fraîche definitely helps give the flavor a little additional complexity - along with keeping them moist.

This week's Recipe of the Week is Brown Sugar-Cranberry Oat Muffins from WIlliams-Sonoma.

They are certainly not difficult to make. And they are definitely going to be better than those store-bought or packaged muffins. Much better!

Get your ingredients together ahead of time and the entire recipe can be done start to finish in 40-45 minutes. It's really just a matter of whisking together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in one bowl. Combining two cups of the oats, the crème fraîche, the milk and the -  and then adding the eggs, then the brown sugar. Then you combine the two bowls and fold in the cranberries. Drop them into muffin tins, sprinkle with the remaining oats, and off to the oven they go. They bake for about 25 minutes or so. Cool on a wire rack for five more and you're done!
