The Joseph Joseph Adjustable Rolling Pin

It's Fall and many of us are all baking up a storm. Anyone else have trouble rolling out dough to a constant thickness like I do? If so, listen up! This is just one of those products I love. And like so many Joseph Joseph products, it's pretty smart and well-designed. It's their Adjustable Rolling Pin.

It has these four sets removable disks (1/16 inch, 1/6 inch, 1/4 inch, and 3/8 inch) that raise or lower the surface of the roller to the exact height you need. And in another smart little addition you may not notice at first, it has markings on the roller to measure the width of your dough. No more breaking out that ruler - or just eyeballing it! And like many of this brand's products it's colorful - which looks great and also happens to serve a purpose. It makes it easier to see and select the disks.

Just a word of caution. It's not the widest rolling pin you'll ever see (the wood roller is only about 13 1/2 inches). Keep that in mind if the recipes you make use wider doughs. Unlike a rolling pin with handles on each end, this one has the leveling disks at each end. So, if you have a wide dough, the disks can cut into it. An alternative (if you don't need the disks) is to remove them and just use the roller and the handles.

Also, just so you know, there are now several iterations of this product. There was an original version that came with three disk sets (1/16 inch, 1/4 inch, and 3/8 inch). The most current version is sometimes called the Adjustable Rolling Pin Plus.

Joseph Joseph is one of my favorite brands It's been around since 2003 and is just brilliant at merging beautiful design and style with functionality - and practicality. They focus quite a bit on making great use of space. You'll notice that many of their products are especially useful if you have a smaller kitchen or just want to save space.

(NOTE: I am in no way affiliated with JosephJoseph. I just like many of their products!)
